Mersey Burns is a free clinical tool for calculating burn area percentages, prescribing fluids using Parkland, background fluids and recording patients' details. It is designed for physicians and runs on the iPad™, iPhone®, iPod touch®, Android™ and HTML5 compatible browsers.
Mersey Burns won an Excellence in Innovation prize at the NHS North West Health Innovation Awards in 2011, was highly commended at the national E-Health Insider awards in 2012, and has been presented as the British Burns Association and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.
